AI WhatsApp Follow-Up Agent for Event Registrations

Project Overview

This project was built to solve a major event marketing problem: low attendee show-up rates due to poor follow-up and lack of engagement after registration. I developed an AI-powered WhatsApp text agent that automatically engages every registrant in real time, answers their questions, and keeps them warm before the event, all without manual intervention.

The system was built using GoHighLevel (GHL) for form capture and WhatsApp messaging, and n8n as the AI processing engine that interprets and responds to attendee messages intelligently.

The Problem
- Many people registered for the event but did not show up.
- No structured follow-up process after registration.
- Manual WhatsApp follow-ups were time-consuming and inconsistent.
- Attendees had questions but received delayed responses.
- The team could not engage hundreds of registrants at scale.

The Solution
I designed an automated AI WhatsApp agent that:
- Captures event registrations through a GoHighLevel form.
- Instantly sends a WhatsApp message using GHL’s native WhatsApp integration.
- Routes attendee replies into an AI text-processing workflow built in n8n.

Uses AI to:
- Answer event-related questions.
- Provide reminders and important event details.
- Ask intelligent follow-up questions to increase commitment.
- Sends AI-generated responses back through GoHighLevel to the attendee on WhatsApp.
- Logs all conversations inside GHL for visibility and tracking.

This created a two-way conversational system that engages every registrant automatically from the moment they sign up until the event day.
